Hip Hip Hooray! It's 100 Day!




We made hats that were from paper strips.  Some strips were left down and some people stapled them into crowns.  We put bingo dots on the hats and decorated them. We had fun doing it! -Nolan



We made Fruit Loop necklaces with a paper that had 10 circles. We had to put 10 loops in a circle. That made 100. Then we put the fruit loops on a chain with a 100 picture on it. Some people made a pattern. -Kennedy

There was 10 on each circle. There was 10 circles. So that made 100 fruit loops. Then we put them on a string.  I ended up eating all of mine before I got home! -Jesse

We popped balloons. We got to 100 counting by 10s. -Dylan


We got to play games. There was bounce a ball 100 times, counting pennies, and throwing a beanbag into the air 100 times.  We got to make a pattern with 100 pattern blocks, and we got to count 100 buttons. -Danika



We flipped a penny and whatever we got we had to tally- heads or tails. We tallied it 100 times. The heads won. -Megan

We had to count lots and lots of buttons.  When I was counting I sorted them into red, pink, and black groups. -Camp

It was kind of hard to sort them and count all of them. -Mason
We had to search and find 100 things on our paper. I liked it! -Elissa

I ate some of the fruit loops at Lockport School, and then I ate the rest at home! -Rowan
We had so much fun for 100 day!  We ended off the day with popsicles.  We had to estimate what the popsicles would look like after 100 licks.  It was a great day! -Mrs. Bailey

I Love to Read About China Assembly

There was a Chinese lion that did a lion dance for our I Love to Read About China assembly. -Mason

The lion came up really close to me and Elissa! -Kennedy

Kwan used handkerchiefs to dance. She spun it around with one hand. It was really awesome! -Anna

Kwan had some volunteers to come up and try to spin the handkerchiefs around.  Some people's handkerchiefs fell on the ground. -Nolan

I got to try the handkerchiefs.  It was kind of hard. -Brooke
It was really hard trying to eat popcorn with chopsticks. -Kynan

It was too hard to use chopsticks! -Anna
The popcorn was good and it was really really fun eating the popcorn with the chopsticks. -Danika
I got some popcorn with the chopsticks, but I ate the rest with my hands. -Brooke

At the end of the day we got to eat popcorn with chopsticks and it was really fun! -Elissa


When I was eating popcorn I only got to eat one with chopsticks and then I ate some with my hands.  Then I put the popcorn in my pocket and ate the rest of the popcorn. -Jesse

Charlie Comes to Visit St. Andrews School

We saw Charlie and Pat Harrison.  They came to St. Andrews School to visit and tell us about how they make "Fluffy and Charlie" books. -Camp

Charlie is a dog in books that we like to read. Lots of people have "Fluffy and Charlie" books.  They are awesome books! -Josh & Brooke

 Pat Harrison told us a story about one day when they went for a walk with the dogs. When they got home there was a black hat in their front yard. She had always wanted to do a snowman story, so this was a little freaky.  Then she made the snowman story "Snowdogs" about Fluffy and Charlie. -Shayla

 We got to see how they made the books. They showed us pictures of the four machines that they use to print the books. There was four different colours- yellow, blue, magenta, and black.  Then they showed us all the Charlie books. Then she read us "The Three Little Pugs" and Charlie has allergies and he kept knocking down their houses. The only one he didn't knock down was the Lego house. After Fluffy introduced him to the little pugs.  They used the hot water to make bone soup. I really liked the book! -Jesse
 We got to pet Charlie at the end. -Danika

Fluffy and Charlie's newest book is going to be about a sugar rush! Miguel and Maddie in grade 3 gave her the idea.  The grade 3's in St. Andrews are going to help her make the new book. -Kennedy
